Extremely Well Deserved Recognition!! 19 November 2008 On Friday 14th November, the time and effort Paula has put into providing support for overpayment victims was recognised at Rotherham’s Community Achievement Awards. Fighting off stiff competition in the category of ‘Volunteer’, Paula’s tireless efforts were recognised at the event hosted by Voluntary Action Rotherham and attended by local dignitaries such as the Mayor, Leader and CEX of the local council, and CEX of the Primary Care Trust.
Paula is providing advice on over 1,500 cases, in addition to the people who are able to fight their own disputes thanks to the information on the website Paula set up. Our website has received in excess of 66,000 unique hits to date. Paula provides a face-to-face service for Rotherham residents, as well as email and telephone support to people worldwide. Well done and best wishes to Paula from all at TCC, and many thanks to her for her work on all of our behalves! First AGM A Success 13 November 2008 Tax Credit Casualties first ever AGM was successfully held, in Rotherham, on Saturday 8th November. Jess travelled to Rotherham from the far north-west of England, and Ali & the Webmaster joined in over the internet. Many thanks to Sarah and Jess for their live commentary on both Microsoft Messenger and the TCC Forum. Introductions were followed by reports from the Chair, Treasurer and 3rd Sector, with Ali providing a Union Update. Nominations for the Management Committee had been received, and were voted upon. The new Committee were unanimously elected, with 26 votes 'for' and none 'against'. Thank you to all of the people who registered as Voting Members and submitted their votes via this website.
