Use Your Unions & Other Organisations

Are you a trade union activist? Could you get Tax Credit overpayments on your local branch's agenda and network within your union to make this a more prominent issue, perhaps with a Motion to your union's annual National Delegate Conference? Union processes tend to mean that this is likely to be a slow-burner, but Alison from TCC is happy to share her experiences of union activities if you are interested.

Tax Credit Casualties are independent of political parties, although we cannot help but notice that some MPs are far less critical of Tax Credits and far more resistant to changing the system than others.

We seem to be hearing a lot of anger at the current administration, and many people feel somewhat less inclined to support the Labour party at the moment than they might have done previously. Although this is a matter of choice, some people have opted out of their union's Labour-affiliated fund and instead opt to pay their subscriptions to the General Political Fund, hoping that when they advise the government of this loss of support (and vote), more notice will be taken of our unnecessary plight.

Of course, if you're a member of any other organisation that could have an interest in the campaign against unjust Tax Credit overpayments, please do what you can to get them involved. We're here to help if you need us.
